Description

Summary 
The use of pesticides, to some extent, promoted the development of agricultural productivity, but on the other hand, it also brought series of negative effects, the indiscriminate abuse led to much pesticide residues in the vegetables and fruits, which can cause acute and chronic poisoning. ECALBIO team develop a rapid method to accurately screen fruits and vegetables for the presence of organochlorine and organophosphorous pesticides based on a enzyme Inhibition principle. The analysis of fruits and vegetables by disposable pipette extraction (DPX) has been demonstrated to be very useful. This method is very rapid, and does not require solvent evaporation or a separate concentration step. It incorporates a fast, high sensitive and low-cost method, and can meet the standard of quality supervision, inspection department and consumer home self-test.

Sample preparation and procedure

1. Sample preparation
1) Take fresh vegetables or fruit, remove soil, cut into less than 1 cm pieces .
2) Take 5g into clean tube, add 10mL distilled water and wash solution.
3) Shake vigorously for 50 times, place for 2 min.

2. Procedure

1) Take test strip, fold the sheet of strip in two, put into incubator.
2) Add 3 drops of sample extraction, incubate at 37 ℃ for 3 min.
3) Always keep moist of strip surface, cover it and color for 3 min.

Results judgment
Positive
Compared with blank control, if the white part does not change color or turn into light blue,it should be strong positive result, indicate that the pesticide residues content is high; and it should be weak positive result if it turns into light blue, indicating that the pesticide residues content is relatively low.

Negative
If the white part turns into azure or the same compared with the blank control card, the result is negative.

Storage and expiry date
The test kit is stable for 12 months at 15-25 ℃ in the dark.
